What it is

A Chunk is a user-data storage extent managed by the chunk storage layer. Chunks hold bytes and have placement and physical layout.

When to use it

Use Chunk to inspect where user data is stored and to follow a logical object or table file to physical storage.

Boundary

Chunk is an implementation-level storage unit; S3 objects and Iceberg files remain separate user-facing models.

See the Chunk Console tab guide.
